Municipal Practice

Corbett and White, P.A. currently serves as the municipal attorney and general counsel for ten (10) municipalities in Palm Beach County as well as General Counsel for the Palm Beach County League of Cities, Inc. and the West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, an independent special district. We also serve as the Code Enforcement Attorney for the City of Palm Beach Gardens and as the Special Magistrate for the Towns of Glen Ridge and Cloud Lake.  We provide a full range of general counsel services, including the areas of local government legislative issues, land use and zoning, code enforcement, contract law, employment law, preparation of ordinances and resolutions, and litigation.

Our firm is unique in its ability to provide legal representation for municipalities. We have a depth of experience in local government and municipal law that is unparalleled in Palm Beach County. Additionally, we make it a practice to decline all cases against municipalities unless one of our own clients becomes involved in a dispute against another municipality. At Corbett and White, P.A., we are committed to the representation of municipalities and we have made a conscious decision to limit our practice in order to ensure that we achieve that goal.

Land Use Practice

John Corbett, Vice President of Corbett and White, P.A., is a highly respected attorney with over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the areas of land use and zoning, developments of regional impact, traffic and school concurrency issues and is also an AICP Certified Land Planner. Mr. Corbett has also provided expert witness testimony in land use and zoning cases, most recently on behalf of the City of Boca Raton. Mr. Corbett also played a key role in drafting both the school concurrency documents and the County’s traffic performance standards ordinance.
